GRADE 4

I can’t believe how quickly we are heading towards the end of term two! Students have been very busy learning about Explanation Text and they are focusing on comparing and contrasting skills in reading and comprehension. In Grammar, they have been learning about the use of prepositions and prepositional phrases to make their sentences more interesting.

In Maths, students are learning about how to read grid references, maps, finding directions and calculating areas of given shapes.

In Geography, they are learning about natural resources, conservation and sustainability. To further reinforce their learning, they visited Mooroopna Learning Centre to participate in an excursion called “Build a Town”. They looked at how water is purified and supplied to our towns and what happens to it after we have used it. They got an opportunity to build their own town using craft materials and they had to model how water is supplied and recycled again. The activity was really great!
